In 1397 Germignaga becames part of the new Country of Angera; in the XV century it remains a project for the building of the “ Ferrera di Zermignaga “
that had to manufacture iran and the other brouches, exploting the watercourses for the operation of the hummers.
Always in the XV century, in the
Trivulzion armorial contains over 200 coats of arm of families and community of on the ancient dukedom of Milan, the coat of arms of the family
“De Germignaga” is rapresented and in 1986 it was adopted also by the town consil.
In 1555 it was an important trade centre for wood, coal,wine and fish.
Up to 1700 Germignaga was mainly are agricolture village, then the textile production started, at first with the hemp working then with the silk spinning,
culminating from 1839 with the constrution of the huge tubler factory.
In few decodies with the rising of the new factories, Germignaga became an important industrial centre and hundres of people obtained a job, in this
way the population increased from 1060 inhabitants in 1867 to 2600 inhabitants in 1920.
