Good Friday procession

Good Friday procession or procession of Intierro (from Entierro Spanish word) is the most impressive and participated religious event of Germignaga. It takes place since 1686, every year hundreds of people come to assist to it. It starts from San Rocco church, where a big Jesus simulacrum in wood is assembled with a cross. The confraternity of the Holy Sacrament put in place the Christ’s body deposition, in a huge crystal and iron urn. From this point, the musical Band of Santa Cecilia accompanies the procession through the fixed itinerary, including some representatives and alive subjects. One of the most beautiful moment is when the procession cross San Giovanni river in which hundreds of lights are put for the occasion.
